Job Title: Site Gate Person
Reporting to: Site Manager
Role purpose
This role will support the site team with daily tasks on site relating to the Omexom Project at Fort Augustus Substation, Auchteraw Road, Fort Augustus.
The project period runs to 2032 with opportunity on Omexom projects thereafter
You will be part of the site-based project team delivering the work and will report to the Site Manager.
The role will be site-based Monday to Friday 0700-1800 with occasional overtime and weekend work required for which you would be paid.
Ideally the candidate will live locally, however accommodation can be provided by Omexom.
Teamwork is a key essential of the Omexom philosophy so you will be comfortable working as part of a team and willing to contribute to the team ethic and dynamic
The role will provide you with opportunities for advancement and training which Omexom promotes and supports.
Responsibilities & Duties
Including but not limited to the following:
You will be the initial point of contact for anyone entering or leaving the site.
You will maintain a record of all vehicle and pedestrian movements into and out of the site.
On arrival you will greet visitors and direct them to the correct location on site for parking
You will attend a daily site meeting with the Site Manager to receive advance indication where available of upcoming deliveries and visitors
You will ensure that any vehicle-leaving site is in clean and safe condition. That material is not transported onto the public highway. You will report any such incidence and arrange for clean up through the Site Manager noting the details of the offending vehicles
You will work closely with the Store Co-Ordinator and Site Manager to advise of deliveries that require offloading and direct to the appropriate area
You will ensure that deliveries to site do not obstruct the public highway
You may have to collect delivery lines and paperwork which you will be responsible for providing to the Site Administrator daily
You will inspect daily to ensure that all site advance signage at the entrance is erected. clear and visible.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the entrance gates and barriers are serviceable with a daily inspection and report defects to the Site Manager.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all gates locks are kept safe with no unauthorized access to keys or entrance codes
Ability to read, comprehend and sign on to Safe Systems of Work

Person Specification
The Gate Person will require you to be physically fit and able to safely undertake the role in demanding terrain and weather.
As the first person contact you will have to be articulate and presentable. Omexon branded clothing will require to be worn whilst at work
You will have a decisive nature and able to deal with unforeseen circumstances whilst liaising with the Site Manager to resolve
You will have an aptitude to work as part of a team and will be encouraged to develop your skills both on site and in formal practical training.
Experience
The Gate Person will look to show competence and experience in at least the following areas.
· Previous experience in a similar role advantageous
· Experience of working in a live substation environment advantageous
· Use of hand power tools
· Good reading and writing skills
· Ability to take instruction
· Safety Awareness in a construction site-based environment
Competencies
Required skills, knowledge, and abilities:
The Civil General Operative will have.
· CSCS Card or equivalent
· Driving license (essential)
