Degree Apprentice Civil Engineer
Job Title: Civil Engineer Degree Apprentice
Reporting to: Project Manager
Role purpose
The Civil Engineering Graduate Apprentice will support the delivery of civil engineering works at the Emmock Substation project while undertaking a Graduate Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering with the University of Dundee. The role combines practical, site-based experience with academic study, developing competence in safe and effective delivery of major infrastructure works.
Responsibilities & Duties
Including but not limited to the following:
· Assist with site coordination between subcontractors, engineers and site management
· Assist with site setting out, surveying and dimensional checks
· Assist with site testing, inspections and quality records
· Support supervision of earthworks, drainage, concrete and foundation works
· Assist with RAMS, ITPs, site records and reporting
· Promote and comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements

Relationships with key stakeholders:
· Site Fitters and Apprentices
· Sub-Contractors
· Third Party Workforces that may be affected by our works.
· Project Team (Safety and Design)
· Project Manager
· Client nominated representatives.
Person Specification
Qualifications and experience
· Entry requirements aligned with the University of Dundee Civil Engineering Graduate Apprenticeship
· Full UK driving license required
· Interest in civil engineering and major infrastructure projects
· The ability to put the customer at the centre of decision making.
· The ability to engage at a specific and detailed level with key tasks, evidenced by those tasks being executed in a highly efficient manner.
· Personal integrity, resilience and the robustness needed to operate in a fast-changing contracting environment.
