Job Title: Site Supervisor
Reporting to: Project Manager
Business Unit: Substations
Role Purpose
The Site Supervisor will undertake the site management of all electrical construction, maintenance, fitting, and removal of substation plant and equipment.
This work will be undertaken in full compliance with construction drawings, documents, and specifications, as well as published guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures to ensure satisfactory completion of work.
The role will require the management of CDM areas and the safety of all personnel within them.
A company vehicle may be provided at the discretion of Omexom Management, and the use of all company vehicles must comply with the Omexom Transport Policy.
Responsibilities & Duties
Including but not limited to the following:
Manage the day-to-day work programme for nominated site staff.
Deliver Daily Briefs, Point of Work Risk Assessments, Toolbox Talks, etc.
Take responsibility for the team whilst on site to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient implementation of site operations.
Ensure all materials and supplies are procured/provided to the fitters to avoid delays and maintain efficient working of the team.
Ensure deliveries are only accepted for undamaged materials and report daily deliveries to assist with financing.
Ensure all construction and demolition work complies with RAMS, lifting plans, drawings, and specifications.
Display responsibility for receipt of permits and limitations of access with relevant authority.
Undertake basic safety inspections before commencement of works.
Supervise and assist with construction, maintenance, fitting, and wiring of substation plant and equipment to ensure works are delivered to a high-quality standard.
Liaise with safety and design teams regarding problems and solutions.
Assist the Construction Manager with ongoing quality control by maintaining/completing documentation detailed within the Inspection & Test Plan.
Maintain and develop competence level and technical skills to ensure delivery to high standards.
Attend training as required to maintain knowledge and application of systems and procedures.
Deliver scheduled/unscheduled work to time and standard in accordance with instructions.
Comply with all Omexom H&SE standards, Quality Standards, Operational Procedures, and Policies.
Perform Site Document Controller duties — sorting and storing of drawings.
Chair and record site meetings with clients at site progress meetings.
Actively contribute to the team by sharing knowledge and experience, monitoring progress, and providing support for others.
Check and prepare job reports for management and clients.
Promptly make safe (where safe to do so), then record all accidents, hazards, and near misses in line with Omexom Policy.
Lead by example with Safety Behaviour and Management; encourage safe working, hazard reporting, and innovation. Report any concerns regarding Quality, Safety, Health, or Environment to the Construction Manager or nominated representative.
Be proactive with site safety through Site Inspections, Near Misses, and Positive Interventions.
Ensure all machinery, equipment, substances, transport, and plant are used appropriately and in line with RAMS, manufacturer’s instructions, company guidance, and training.
Provide mentoring support to apprentices in compliance with their training and development programmes.
Proactively drive personal development through the appraisal system (Check-In).

Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
Supervisors will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience working on DNO substation sites operating from 11–400kV and will complete the Omexom Supervisor’s Course.
Must also possess:
Basic reading, writing, and maths skills.
Relevant accreditations for the role.
Good understanding of reading and interpreting drawings and documents.
Training, experience, and qualifications expected for the role as outlined by Omexom.
Computer literacy in line with Omexom systems.
Commercial awareness.
Knowledge of substation health and safety procedures.
SSSTS certification.
CSCS card.
