Job Title: Information Controller
Department: Project Delivery / Document Control / Digital Engineering
Reports to: Project Information Manager / Document Control Lead
Role Purpose
The Information Controller is responsible for managing the flow, quality, and integrity of project information and documentation. This role ensures that all project data is accurately recorded, securely stored, and readily accessible to relevant stakeholders, supporting compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the Common Data Environment (CDE) for the project.
Ensure all project documentation is correctly filed, version-controlled, and distributed.
Perform quality assurance checks on documents to ensure compliance with project standards.
Support the implementation of the Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) and Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP).
Coordinate the submission and approval process for design and construction documents.
Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure timely information exchange.
Provide training and support to project teams on document control systems and protocols.
Assist in the preparation of handover documentation and data drops.
Maintain confidentiality and data security in line with company policies.
Generate reports on document status, compliance, and outstanding actions.
Person Specification
Essential
Experience in document control or information management within the construction or engineering sector.
Proficiency in using document management systems (e.g., Viewpoint, Aconex, ACC).
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Desirable
Knowledge of ISO 19650 and BIM Level 2 standards.
Familiarity with project delivery frameworks and digital construction tools.
Experience supporting large infrastructure or building projects.
