Role purpose
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure and Systems Evaluation Consultant to assess the current effectiveness, performance, and scalability of our IT infrastructure and systems. This role will focus on identifying gaps in capabilities, resources, and skills, and providing actionable recommendations to ensure alignment with Omexom's short and medium-term business objectives. The ideal candidate will deliver a comprehensive roadmap for improving IT systems and capabilities, ensuring they meet both immediate needs and long-term goals, while staying ahead of trends and competition in the energy sector
Responsibilities & Duties
Evaluate Current IT Systems: Assess the effectiveness and scalability of Omexom's existing IT infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement to support business growth and evolving needs.
Identify Gaps and Needs: Analyse IT capabilities, resources, and skillsets to identify gaps hindering the business's ability to meet its short and medium-term objectives.
Develop Actionable Recommendations: Provide strategic recommendations for addressing immediate IT needs, ensuring alignment with emerging energy sector trends and competitor activities.
Roadmap Development: Create a detailed, actionable, and cost-effective roadmap for improving IT systems, focusing on key areas such as hardware and network infrastructure, software systems, data management, and cybersecurity.
Evaluate Emerging Technologies: Assess opportunities for the adoption of emerging technologies and innovations relevant to the energy sector, integrating them into the IT strategy where applicable.
Compliance and Governance Review: Ensure that IT systems align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in governance and compliance.
Cost-Benefit Analysis: Conduct a thorough cost-benefit analysis for proposed IT enhancements, ensuring that all recommendations are both financially viable and aligned with business priorities.

- Strategic, cost-effective roadmap for the next 6-12 months / high-level view of the next 2-5 years, or longer where applicable.
- Recommendations for enhancing hardware, software, data management, and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Cost-benefit analysis of proposed changes.
Timeline
- Phase 1: Initial assessment and gap analysis
- Phase 2: Development of recommendations and roadmap
- Phase 3: Final presentation of findings and roadmap
Person Specification
Qualifications and experience
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure, systems evaluation, and roadmap development.
- Strong understanding of the energy sector and its IT requirements.
- Expertise in hardware and network infrastructure, software systems, data management, and cybersecurity.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Strong experience in cost-benefit analysis and budgeting.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with emerging technologies within the energy sector.
- Experience in compliance, governance, and regulatory frameworks related to IT.
- Previous experience in creating and implementing IT roadmaps for large organizations.
